The Board of Directors met in a teleconference meeting. The Board was joined by three new members, D.L. Wilson of LaPaz County, AZ, Robert Lovingood of San Bernardino County, CA, and Michael Kingsley of Inyo County, CA. The Board elected Buster Johnson of Mohave County, AZ to continue as Chairman for 2013 and Robert Lovingood to serve as Vice Chairman for the year. The Board acted to renew resolutions objecting to land transfers in the desert, which reduce county tax base and requesting that renewable energy products reflect replacement mitigation for resource use that is lost or displaced. The Board also heard summaries of county participation with the Desert Tortoise Recovery Implementation Teams and the status of desert tortoise habitat management efforts in Arizona.

 

 

 

 March 23, 2012

San Bernardino County First District Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt today was unanimously elected to serve as Chairman of the QuadState Local Governments Authority. QuadState is a 9-county interstate joint powers authority made up of local governments from California, Arizona, Nevada  and Utah, formed in 1999.

Officers of the Authority re-elected at quarterly meeting. At the regularly quarterly meeting of the Authority, held March 7 in Lake Havasu City AZ, Authority Chairman, Buster Johnson and Vice Chairman Brad Mitzelfelt were reelected for the 2008 calendar year. Chairman Johnson serves as the District 3 Supervisor on the Mohave County Board of Supervisors, and represents that county on the Authority’s Board. Mitzelfelt serves as the District 1 Supervisor on the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors, and represents that county on the Board. Both were initially elected to serve in the 2007 calendar year.

 

 

Authority files brief supporting its intervention in the West Mojave and Northern and Eastern Colorado land use plan litigation. Summary judgment hearing scheduled for May 16, 2008, in Federal District Court in San Francisco, CA.
