INCIDENT:    PC 273ab(b): Child Abuse Causing Coma


LOCATION:   8600 Block of Palomar Avenue, Yucca Valley


SUSPECT:    Hannah Grace Thompson, 21 year old female, resident of Yucca Valley


VICTIM:          Confidential male, age 5, resident of Yucca Valley


On Sunday, May 18, 2014, deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station responded to Thompson’s residence in Yucca Valley with Fire Department personnel after Thompson called 911 to report that her boyfriend’s five year old son fell from a stool at the home. The victim sustained significant head injuries and was airlifted to the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. Medical personnel believed the injuries to be suspicious for child abuse. 


Morongo Basin Station personnel notified the Crimes Against Children Detail, who assumed the investigation.   


On Thursday, May 22, 2014, Thompson was arrested for PC 273a/b(b) – Child Abuse Causing Coma. She was booked at the Central Detention Center and is being held on $500,000 bail.
