INCIDENT:        Vicious Animal - 150 - 200 pd Male Black Bear

 

LOCATION:       36000 block of Oak Glen Road, Yucaipa

 



Summary

On Monday, May 12, 2014 at approximately 1:52 a.m., deputies from the Yucaipa Police Department  responded to a report of a vicious bear in the 36000 block of Oak Glen Road in Yucaipa.     While responding, deputies were advised the homeowner had gone out to her backyard and found a bear inside a fenced goat pen, actively attacking one of her goats.  Upon arrival, deputies discovered the remains of the goat, still in its pen. The homeowner advised deputies that the bear had charged her and she was forced to shoot the bear.  The deceased bear was located approximately 40 yards from the goat pen.  

 

Deputies notified the Department of Fish and Wildlife of this incident, a Game Warden responded to the location to complete the investigation.  No other animals, persons, or property sustained injury or damage.
