On Sunday, May 4, 2014 Jordan Maxwell was involved in a verbal and physical altercation with the victim. Maxwell took the keys to the victim's vehicle and attempted to pull her out of the car by her hair. Maxwell was unable to pull her out and started striking the vehicle with a four foot metal pipe. Deputies arrived shortly after the incident was reported and arrested him without incident. Maxwell is currently being held on a bail of $125,000.00 at the Central Detention Center for PC664/215- attempted carjacking, PC273.5- Felony domestic violence, and HS11377(a)- possession of a controlled substance.
During the investigation, it was discovered that Maxwell is currently on PRCS probation, as a result of California Assembly Bill 109 for, CVC2800.2, felony failure to yield.
As part of Governor Jerry Brown's Realignment Plan, or Assembly Bill 109, to comply with a U.S. Supreme Court Decision requiring the state to lower its prison population; offender with non-violent, non-sexual and non-serious convictions will serve reduced sentences in county jails and be placed on local supervision through county Probation.
