INCIDENT:    Transportation of methamphetamine / Bringing narcotics into jail facility

 

LOCATION:   22491 De Berry St., Grand Terrace

 

SUSPECT:    Nicholas Mendoza 26 years of age resident of San Bernardino and Katrina Castillo resident of Rancho Cucamonga.

 

VICTIM(s):     State of California



Summary

On Sunday May 25, 2014 at approximately 12:42 p.m., a deputy from Grand Terrace Sheriff’s Station conducted a traffic stop at 22491 De Berry St. in Grand Terrace.  During contact with the occupants the driver identified as Nicholas Mendoza displayed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance.  With the assistance from deputies assigned to the city of Loma Linda a search of Mendoza was conducted and deputies located burglary tools and 23.6 grams of methamphetamine. 

 

The female passenger identified as Katrina Castillo initially provided a name belonging to another person.  Through investigation Castillo was found to have a no bail warrant for her arrest.  She also had 1 gram of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in her property inside the vehicle. 

 

Both suspects were arrested and transported to Central Detention Center for booking.  Inside Central Detention Center Castillo had an additional 7.3 grams of methamphetamine hidden in her clothing.  In total approximately 32 grams of methamphetamine were removed from the streets of Grand Terrace.
