INCIDENT: PC29800(A)(1) - FELON POSSESSION OF A LOADED FIREARM, PC496(A) - POSSESSION OF A STOLEN GUN, PC496D - POSSESSION OF A STOLEN VEHICLE and PC466 - POSSESSION OF BURGLARY TOOLS

 

LOCATION: INLAND CENTER DR./ RIVERWALK and the COLTON INN MOTEL, CITY of COLTON

 

SUSPECT(S): FERNANDO ARCHILA, 38 year old from San Bernardino

                        BARBARA NAVARRO, 33 year old from San Bernardino

                        NICHOLAS RAMIREZ, 21 year old from San Bernardino

 



Summary

SUMMARY: On May 18, 2014 at approximately 1:21 a.m. deputies located a stolen Honda in the area of Glasgow and Anson in the county area of San Bernardino. As deputies approached the stolen vehicle, a Hispanic female adult was seen fleeing. The female was unable to be apprehended at that time. A bag containing personal property and paperwork belonging to Barbara Navarro was located inside the stolen car. During the investigation, deputies located another stolen vehicle parked in the same area.

 

At approximately 5:14 p.m. deputies were alerted to a stolen vehicle equipped with LoJack, a black Acura Integra in the area of Washington and Barton near the city of Grand Terrace. Deputies located the stolen vehicle parked near the Colton Inn motel.  Deputies observed Nicholas Ramirez exit a motel room and enter the stolen vehicle. Ramirez left the area and was stopped by deputies. He was found to be in possession of shaved keys (vehicle burglary tools) and suspected methamphetamine. While investigating the recovered stolen vehicle, deputies contacted Barbara Navarro who had been staying in the motel with her boyfriend Nicholas Ramirez. Ramirez was arrested for PC 496(a), Possession of a stolen vehicle and booked at the Central Detention Center.

 

Later that night, deputies received information that Navarro was the female suspect seen fleeing the area of Glasgow and Anson and the two stolen vehicles recovered there. A follow up investigation was conducted and Navarro was located in a vehicle being driven by Fernando Archila in the city of Colton. A loaded stolen handgun was found inside their vehicle along with shaved car keys. Both Navarro and Archila were arrested for PC 29800(a)(1), Felon in possession of a firearm and PC 496(a), Possession of a stolen firearm and PC 466, Possession of burglary tools.
