INCIDENT: FATAL TRAFFIC COLLISION

 

LOCATION: TWENTYNINE PALMS HWY / WAMEGO TRAIL, YUCCA VALLEY

 

INVOLVED PARTY (1): Christopher Ryan Hannon, 22 years, resident of Yucca Valley

 

INVOLVED PARTY (2): John Doe, 59 years, resident of Yucca Valley

 



Summary

On Thursday, March 20, 2014, deputies responded to a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Twentynine Palms Highway near Wamego Trail in the Town of Yucca Valley. John Doe was traveling westbound on Twentynine Palms Highway riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle when he was struck from behind by a Dodge Charger, also traveling westbound, driven by Christopher Hannon. Hannon’s vehicle then left the roadway on the north side of the highway and struck a street light pole, severing it. Doe sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene

 

Morongo Basin Station’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded to the scene of the traffic collision and conducted the investigation. Hannon was later released from the scene. The cause of this collision is still under investigation.
