On March 17, 2014, deputies of the Big Bear Sheriff’s
Station responded to a call for service wherein a male juvenile was reported to
have sent sexually explicit pictures and messages via social media and text
messaging to numerous female juveniles ranging in age from 14 to 17 years of
age. Through investigation conducted by
the Big Bear Detectives’ Bureau, 13 victims have been identified to date. The 17-year-old suspect was contacted,
interviewed and taken into custody without incident. The suspect is currently on felony probation
on unrelated charges.
The suspect remains in custody at San Bernardino County
Juvenile Hall. On March 19, the Juvenile
District Attorney’s Office filed a complaint against the suspect on multiple criminal
