On March 28, 2014, deputies were sent to a residence in the 39000 block of Lakeview Drive, Big Bear Lake. Neighbors heard loud music coming from a vacation home and knew the homeowners were not at the residence. Deputies arrived and found an extension cord running from a neighboring residence to inside the vacation home.  They also found the rear door open. Deputies checked inside the home and found Phillip Kimble hiding inside. Kimble broke into the residence, stole several items and set up the extension cord so he could temporarily live in the home.  The home owners did not know Kimble or give him permission to be at the residence.

Phillip Kimble was arrested at the scene, transported and booked into the Big Bear Jail for burglary.  Kimble remains in custody in lieu of $25, 000 bail.

The observations and awareness of the citizens in the neighborhood made this arrest possible. Citizens are encouraged to become familiar with their neighbors and report suspicious activity to the Sheriff’s Department. It is through this partnership that we make our community safer.
