On Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 12:51 a.m., deputies responded to report of a suspicious vehicle parked near the Taco Bell in the 7300 block of Boulder Ave, Highland.  As deputies arrived, they found the vehicle, a full size white panel van, parked near the closed business.  A record's check showed the vehicle was reported stolen out of Glendora.   The driver and sole occupant, David Silva,  was taken into custody without incident.

A search of Silva and the vehicle uncovered an estimated 1/4 ounce of methamphetamine and indication of drug sales, as well as several pieces of hydraulic lifesaving equipment commonly used by fire department personnel, including "jaws of life" and hydraulic metal spreaders.  The investigation is ongoing in an effort to locate the rightful owner of this equipment.

Silva, who was also wanted on a $100,000 narcotics warrant, was booked into the Central Detention Center with his bail set at $150,000.
