INCIDENT:    SMASH Operation



Summary

On Friday, July 25, 2014, 30 Law Enforcement Officers Conducted a SMASH Operation throughout the Victor Valley. Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, as well as Officers from other allied agencies; saturated the streets in the Victor Valley between the hours of 3:00pm and midnight. 

 

During the operation, which was hosted by the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station and the City of Adelanto, over 60 arrests were made or various charges, including arrest warrants, parole and probation violations, and possession of narcotics and firearms. During the arrest of one suspect for possession of Marijuana for sales, several buckets of processed Marijuana were recovered.  One suspect was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, after leading deputies on a short pursuit. 

 

Deputies contacted numerous gang members within the Victor Valley, resulting in the documentation of several previously undocumented gang members. 

 

The operation, which was coordinated by Deputy Dominic Moody of the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station and supervised by Sgt. Jim Evans, was deemed a success.
