During the past month, multiple "door kick" style residential burglaries and attempt burglaries have occurred within the City of 29 Palms. The suspect would force open the front door to residences by kicking them open, causing hundreds of dollars in damage and theft of property. Several of these attempt burglaries occurred when the occupants were home. On July 17, 2014 at about 10:49pm, sheriff's deputies responded to the 6400 block of West Court Way in the City 29 Palms, the victim reported their front door had just been kicked in by a subject and then fled on foot. During the course of the investigation, deputies contacted Allen Sins at Cactus Drive and Oasis Ave. Evidence was located linking Sins to the "door kick" on West Court Way, as well as approximately 20 other residential burglaries and attempt burglaries.
Sins was arrested and booked into the Morongo Basin jail for PC 664/459 - Attempt residential burglary, in lieu of $25,000 bail.
