Press Release

DATE/TIME: Thursday, January 2, 2014   / 11:48 a.m.

INCIDENT: Armed Robbery

LOCATION: 8865 Foothill Blvd. #101, Rancho Cucamonga

SUSPECT: Jason Deiner, 34 yrs of age

VICTIM: Schools First Credit Union

On Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 11:48 a.m. a suspect entered the Schools First Credit Union wearing a ball cap and scarf over his face, brandished a black handgun and demanded money from the bank teller.  After putting the money in a beige pillow case the suspect, later identified as Jason Deiner, fled to a white compact pickup, then drove south on Vineyard Avenue.  Rancho deputies and detectives immediately responded and put out the information to surrounding agencies.  An Ontario Police Officer (T.Odell) spotted the pickup east bound on the I-10 Fwy and began following it.  Deiner then attempted to evade the Ontario officer, but more Ontario officers began pursuing him.  Deiner rammed two uninvolved citizens in Ontario, so Ontario Police utilized the Pursuit Intervention Technique at Milliken Avenue and Brickell in Ontario.  Deiner was taken into custody without further incident.  Rancho detectives met with Ontario Police for the investigation.  Witnesses identified Deiner, and the money and handgun were recovered from his vehicle.

Deiner was found to be on parole, and was booked at the West Valley Detention Center for armed robbery and a parole violation.
