INCIDENT: Traffic Collision and Felon in Possession of a firearm (PC 29800)

 

LOCATION: Baseline St. and Tuolumne Ln.

 

SUSPECT: Bret Optiz, 38 years of age, Mentone resident

 



Summary

SUMMARY:

On Thursday, January 16, 2014, at 10:55 p.m. deputies responded to the intersection of Baseline Street and Tuolumne Lane reference a single vehicle, roll over, traffic collision.  Deputies arrived to find a 1989 Dodge truck on its side.  The driver and passenger were contacted at the scene and neither were injured.  Deputies located a firearm in the vehicle.  The driver, Bret Optiz was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm (PC 29800). 

                                                                        

Optiz was transported to the West Valley Detention Center and during the booking process he was found to have narcotics hidden in his clothing.  Optiz was also charged for Possession of a controlled substance.  He is being held on $50,000.00 bail.
