Following the January 4, 2014, robbery of the Check-N-Go in Adelanto by a suspect wearing a motorcycle helmet, Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station Detective Chuck Phillips determined the suspect could be responsible for additional robberies. Through Detective Phillips investigation, he developed information the suspect could possibly be responsible for two additional robberies at the same location in Adelanto, as well as a robbery at a similar business in Victorville and a carjacking and bank robbery in the city of San Bernardino.
Detective Phillips put together a Robbery Task Force consisting of detectives from the Victorville Sheriff’s Station and the San Bernardino Police Department, with the goal of identifying and locating the suspect. In a collaborative effort, the task force worked together using progressive investigative measures to identify the suspect responsible for the robberies.
On Thursday, January 16, 2014, the task force served two search warrants at a residence in the 13000 block of Brynwood in the City of Victorville and arrested the suspect, Jonathan Foreman. Detectives recovered a weapon, vehicle, an undisclosed amount of US Currency, and other evidence implicating Foreman in all the robberies. This is a great example of what teamwork between law enforcement agencies can achieve. “It was only a matter of time before someone was seriously injured,” stated Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station Detective Sergeant Jim Evans.
Foreman was booked at the Victor Valley Jail on 4 counts of Armed Robbery and one count of carjacking. He is currently being held in lieu of $200,000.00 bail.
