INCIDENT:      Sex Registrant Compliance Operation

LOCATION:    Several locations within the City of Rancho Cucamonga

Summary

On Saturday, February 22, 2014, Deputies from the Multi Enforcement Team, Patrol and Detectives conducted a sex registrant compliance operation within the City of Rancho Cucamonga.

The sweep consisted of six, two man teams.  The teams attempted to contact a total of 84 sex registrants.  All registrants are required to have their addresses posted on the Megan’s Law website. The Deputies worked diligently during the eight hour operation and were able to make contact and complete checks on 47 of the 84 registrants. Out of those contacted, eight registrants are currently on felony probation or parole.

One of the registrants was cited for failing to have his proper address listed on driver’s license, a requirement needed for sex registration.  In addition, four arrests were made for various Penal Code and Health & Safety Code violations. Deputies were able to update additional information including cell phones, vehicles, and employment on several other registrants. Two new violations were noted with registrants moving from one address to another and not updating law enforcement with the correct information.
