On February 20th 2014, at 1815 hours, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the Dutch Motel located at 25252 Redlands Blvd. room #104 in the City of Loma Linda. The call was in reference to a three year old who was knocking on doors and running in the parking lot. When Deputy Jeremiah Cornett and Alfredo Lopez arrived on scene they made contact with a female subject. The female gave deputies a fake name and date of birth. The female was later identified as Monic Castro. Castro had an active No Bail warrant for her arrest. The warrant was issued for identity theft and violation of probation.
During a search of Castro’s room, Deputies Cornett and Lopez found Methamphetamine, forged checks, stolen personal information, stolen mail and computer which were being used to alter the checks. Over 22 victim’s personal information was found during the search. While conducting the investigation, the United States Postal Inspector was contacted. The Postal Inspector is also investigating this case for possible Federal charges against Castro.
Castro was arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center and is currently being held on a no bail hold. The child was released to relatives.
