On February 8, 2014, at approximately 8:06 p.m., Highlands’ automatic license plate reader (APLR) registered a stolen vehicle. Deputies conducted an area check and located the vehicle. The driver, Manuel Anthony Reyna of Redlands, tried to run but was apprehended by Highland deputies. He was found to be a Parolee at Large (PAL) and was considered armed and dangerous. Reyna was wanted by parole and Redlands Police Department Detectives for additional criminal investigations. During this investigation he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and law enforcement clothing, badges and insignia which included an El Monte Police tactical jacket and flat badge.
Deputies served a search warrant at a residence in the 2900 Block of Belle Street in San Bernardino. Montebello Police Department assisted with the search because they also were investigating Reyna for crimes and involvement with an outlaw motorcycle gang. Additional evidence was seized at this location.
Highland Deputies are seeking assistance from the public to ascertain if anyone has been a victim of police impersonation. Reyna is described as a 5’08", 195 pounds. He is a Hispanic male adult with slicked back black hair and full mustache. The night of his arrest he was wearing a black police style jacket, dark blue paints, and a black short sleeve law enforcement style button shirt. The night of his arrest he was driving a black GMC Yukon SUV. Anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy Parrott at the Highland Station.
