INCIDENT:    PC 664 / 187– Attempt Murder

                      PC 246 – Shoot at Inhabited Dwelling


LOCATION:  7700 Block McKinley Street; City of Highland


SUSPECT:    Confidential              BMJ                San Bernardino, CA                        16 Years Old

                       REED, Frederick      WMA              Rialto, CA                              24 Years Old

                       CHAVEZ, Timothy   HMA               Colton, CA                            18 Years Old



On February 25, 2014 at approximately 6:40 p.m., Highland Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of the 7700 Block of McKinley Street after receiving numerous calls of gunshots being fired in the area. Witnesses stated three male subjects drove up to the location, and began asking what gang they were from. An argument ensued and the subjects in the vehicle stopped and fired several gun shots at the victims.


Investigators identified and detained all three suspects involved. Search Warrants were served at their homes in the cities if Rialto, Colton, and San Bernardino. During the search warrant service, a handgun, gang paraphernalia and additional evidence were located linking the suspects to the shooting.


Reed and Chavez were arrested and booked into the County Jail in lieu of one million dollar bail. The juvenile was arrested and booked into Juvenile Hall.


Chavez is currently on Formal Felony Probation for a prior burglary conviction. The juvenile is currently on Formal Juvenile Probation for a vehicle theft conviction.
