INCIDENT:     Grant Application to the State of California’s Department of Parks and Recreation

Summary

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department seeks another year of grant funding through the State of California’s Department of Parks and Recreation.  “Unique terrain in the County of San Bernardino’s mountain and desert regions make conventional patrolling methods difficult.   Off Highway equipment coupled with an increase of trained personnel make a world of difference for enforcement efforts,” says Sergeant Anthony Vega.  The Sheriff’s Department has utilized this grant source since 2006, and seeks additional one year funding of $310,300.00.  “The recreational areas throughout the mountain and desert regions will benefit by this grant, ensuring additional Sheriff’s Department personnel are patrolling and enforcing laws.  Grant sources and partnerships such as this provide safer environments and additional security for those participating in recreational hobbies,” adds Sergeant Vega.
