INCIDENT: Grand Theft Auto (CVC10851), Possession of Stolen Property (PC496) and Hit and Run Traffic Collision (CVC20002) 

LOCATION: Baseline Street/ Seine Avenue, City of Highland 

SUSPECT: Francisco Gonzalez, 50, Santa Ana 


Summary

On Wednesday August 19, 2014, at 6:46 PM, deputies from the Highland Station responded to the area of Baseline Street/ Seine Avenue reference a hit and run traffic collision. Prior to Highland deputies arriving on scene, the driver of vehicle #1, later identified as Francisco Gonzalez, fled the scene of the collision. An off-duty San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy witnessed Gonzalez flee and gave chase until Highland deputies arrived and apprehended Gonzalez. During the investigation, a stolen Honda motorcycle was recovered in the bed of Gonzalez vehicle. The motorcycle was reported stolen out of the Las Vegas area on August 17, 2014. 

Gonzalez was arrested for grand theft auto, possession of stolen property and hit and run traffic collision. Gonzalez was booked at Central Detention Center in San Bernardino.
