UPDATE Wednesday, August 27, 2014, 3:45 P.M.:
Following the arrest of 45-year-old James Passmore on August 12, 2014, a report was forwarded by the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station to the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office for review and filing of criminal charges against Passmore. The case was originally turned down by the District Attorney’s Office pending further investigation. Passmore was released from jail on bail for his outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants and issued a citation for a court appearance. Passmore failed to appear on his appointed court date, and a new warrant was issued for his arrest.
On August 20, the District Attorney’s Office filed a criminal complaint for unlawful sexual acts against Passmore relating to the arrest on 08/12/14.
On August 25, 2014, deputies of the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station went to a residence in the 700 block of Edgemoore Road in Big Bear Lake to serve the warrant on Passmore. Passmore ran from the location, initiating a foot pursuit through a residential neighborhood. When Passmore was located, he brandished a weapon at a deputy and was tased. Passmore was taken into custody without further incident.
Passmore was booked into the Big Bear Jail on additional felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon against a peace officer, and committing a felony while out on bail. Passmore was arraigned today on the new charges. The next court date in this matter is set for September 5, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. in Department S12 of the San Bernardino County Superior Court.

On August 2, 2014 the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station opened an investigation regarding unlawful sexual relations between a 45-year-old male identified as James Passmore and a 16 year old female juvenile. As part of the ongoing investigation, a warrant was issued for the arrest of suspect James Passmore. Shortly after 8:00 a.m. on 08/12/14, deputies went to a residence in the 700 block of W. Big Bear Blvd. in Big Bear City to serve the warrant. Passmore was at the residence and fled from a bathroom window when deputies arrived. Following a short foot pursuit, Passmore was taken into custody without incident.
Suspect James Passmore was booked into the Big Bear Jail on felony charges of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and oral copulation with a minor, as well as outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants. Passmore remains in custody in lieu of a total of $225,000. An arraignment hearing in this matter has been set for August 14 at the San Bernardino County Superior Court.
