Sunday, April 27, 2014, at approximately 9:37 p.m., deputies from the Yucaipa Police
Department responded to the report of an armed robbery and stabbing that
occurred in a parking lot in the 34400 block of Yucaipa Blvd in Yucaipa. Upon arrival, deputies located a female victim, later identified as Krystina Hanrahan,
suffering from apparent stab wounds. Deputies were informed that a male suspect,
later identified as Vincent DeLeon, had approached the victim and stole her
purse. The victim was stabbed during the
robbery. A concerned citizen, later
identified as Troy Cansler, was attempting to help the victim and chased
DeLeon. DeLeon stabbed Cansler, in the
area of 4th Street near Yucaipa Blvd. The suspect fled into an adjacent business
and was located and detained by deputies.
Medical personnel responded to the scene and both victims were
transported to local area hospitals. Troy
Cansler 47, of Yucaipa was pronounced deceased at the hospital and the female
victim is expected to recover from her injuries.
from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Homicide Detail, responded
and are conducting the investigation. Vincent DeLeon will be transported and
booked into the West Valley Detention Center for PC187 Murder and PC664 Attempt
