Soft closure removal began at 7:00 p.m. All voluntary evacuations have been lifted. Classes at Etiwanda schools will resume on Friday May 2, 2014.

April 30, 2014 11:30 p.m. – Update Etiwanda Fire

 

Mandatory Evacuations have been lifted. Voluntary Evacuations remain in effect for residents north of Hillside Road between Haven Avenue and Milliken Avenue.

A temporary evacuation center for people and animals has been established at Central Park, Northwest corner of Milliken/Baseline. Small animals can be taken directly to Animal Center at 11780 Arrow Route, Rancho Cucamonga.

Road Closures - Only residents allowed in: Etiwanda Ave between Banyan St. and the Northern City Limit | Day Creek Blvd. between Banyan St and the Northern City Limit | Milliken Ave between Wilson Ave and Northern City Limit | Hillside Rd between Haven Ave and the Western City Limit | Banyan St between Milliken Ave and Day Creek Blvd.

April 30, 2014 3:33 a.m. – Update Etiwanda Fire

Mandatory evacuations have been established for the areas of:

All homes north of Banyan – between Rochester and Etiwanda

North of Wilson from Etiwanda Ave. and west to the wash.

Etiwanda Ave. to Day Creek, north of Wilson

Voluntary Evacuations:

North of Hillside from Haven, East to Milliken

North of the 210 freeway between Milliken and Etiwanda

 

No structures burned.

Approximately 1,650 homes evacuated.

 

An evacuation center for people and animals is at Central Park on Baseline/Milliken in Rancho Cucamonga.

Small animals can be taken directly to Animal Center at 11780 Arrow Route, Rancho Cucamonga.

The fire is under unified command between Rancho Cucamonga Fire, CAL FIRE, and USFS

Chaffey College classes have been cancelled for the day.

Etiwanda School District voluntarily moved students from Golden Elementary to Terra Vista Elementary.

U.S Forest Service and Rancho Cucamonga Fire Dept. are battling a fire in the Etiwanda Preserve.  Day Creek Intermediate School, Caryn Elementary and Los Osos High School have been evacuated. 

Students from Day Creek Intermediate are being taken to Heritage School, 13760 Heritage, Fontana and Los Osos High School students without transportation will be bused to Rancho High School, 11801 Lark Dr., Rancho.  Caryn Elementary students are being transported to Perdew Elementary, 13051 Miller Ave. in Rancho.

The following are voluntary evacuation areas: All residents East of Haven to Carnelian, North of Hillside.
