Press Release

DATE/TIME: April 15, 2014/11:03 a.m.

INCIDENT: PC 602.5(a)/ Illegal Entry-Dwelling

LOCATION: 5000 Block of Applewhite Road (Swarthout Canyon), San Bernardino, CA

SUSPECT: Theodore Hatch, 51

VICTIM: Marjorie Olivera, 39

On Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 11:03 a.m. Deputies received a call regarding a subject who had been served with an eviction order on March 5th, but had purposely fled the scene so as to not be personally served.  The property owner/victim spent approximately six months completing the eviction process and was in the final weeks of closing escrow when she discovered Hatch had returned to the property and refused to leave.

Responding deputies surveyed the 65 acre property and after determining the best approach, were able to walk the approximate half mile to the residence unnoticed by Hatch and his two large dogs.  Hatch was subsequently arrested, escorted from the property and booked into the Central Detention Center.

Hatch had an active warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody without incident.
