On Monday, April 28, 2014, at approximately 1343 hours, deputies
from the Apple Valley Police Department responded to the 19000 block of Frances
Street regarding a suspicious circumstances call. Upon arriving at the
location, deputies contacted a female who advised her sister was possibly
deceased in a residence. Deputies conducted a welfare check on Pamela Simmons
(60 YOA) and discovered Simmons, deceased, inside the residence.
It was not immediately known, to patrol personnel, if Simmons'
death was the result of a homicide. Detectives from the San Bernardino County
Sheriff's Department, Homicide Detail, responded to assist with the
investigation. At this time, detectives believe Simmons was likely not the
victim of a homicide, but an autopsy will be performed in order to determine a
cause/manner of death.
