Incident:    Suspect of sexual assault at-large

Location:    2500 block of Sherman Hoyt Avenue, Twenty-nine Palms

Suspect(s):    Louis Ontek, 42-year-old resident of Twenty-nine Palms

On Wednesday, November 6, 2013, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to Hero’s Market, located in Landers, reference a female who appeared to have been assaulted.  Upon arrival, deputies found the victim who reported she had been beaten, tied up and sexually assaulted by 42-year-old Louis Ontek.  Deputies located Ontek later the same day driving a vehicle in Joshua Tree near Park Boulevard and Highway 62.  Ontek fled from deputies resulting in a short vehicle pursuit to the area of Desert Air Road and Bonair Road in Joshua Tree.  Ontek fled from the vehicle he was driving and was not located by responding deputies.


Detectives from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station served a search warrant at Ontek’s residence and recovered evidence supporting the alleged crime.  Onteks’ whereabouts are unknown at this time and detectives have obtained a warrant for his arrest.
