Incident:        Attempted Murder/Felony Child Abuse

Location:       4200 block of N. 3rd Avenue, San Bernardino

Suspect(s):    Corey Lee Joye, age 25 a resident of San Bernardino

Summary

On November 15, 2013, deputies from the Central Station were dispatched to a residence in the county area of San Bernardino for an assault report.  During the investigation the victim identified Corey Lee Joye as a live in boyfriend.  Deputies learned that Joye had been abusive toward the victim and their nine month old son.  Joye attacked the victim with out provokation while the victim held her child.  Joye assaulted the victim with his fists, weapons and strangled the victim while threatning to kill her.  The victim suffered a loss of conciousness and other serious injuries.   The victim managed to  find safety away from the incident location and was treated for her injuries.

 

Deputies conducted further investigation and located Joye in the City of Fontana.  Joye was arrested in Fontana without incident.  Joye was booked into the West Valley Detention Center and currently has $1,000,000.00 bail.
