INCIDENT: PC 2800.2 - Felony Evading


LOCATION: El Paseo Dr. x Desert Knoll Ave. City of Twentynine Palms


SUSPECT: James Daniel Jarrard, 37 years old, resident of 29 Palms


VICTIM(S): State of California



On Saturday Dec. 7, 2013, Deputy Shaunna Ables and Detective Heidi Hague attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a minor equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as James Daniel Jarrard, 37 years old, immediately accelerated and failed to yield to the marked patrol vehicle's emergency lights and siren .  Deputy Ables and Detective Hague pursued Jarrard through the streets of Twentynine Palms while Jarrard continued to drive without due regard for public safety. Jarrard failed to stop at two stop signs and reached speeds of over 90 MPH in a residential neighborhood.  The pursuit lasted approximately two miles before Jarrard abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot.  Jarrard was found hiding at a nearby residence and was arrested for CVC 2800.2(a) - Felony Evading. Jarrard  was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with bail set at $100,000.00.
