  1. Coroner Case #701608662
    On Sunday, 12/04/2016 at approximately 9:40 pm, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department-Hesperia station responded to a head-on collision on U.S. Hwy 395 south of Main St., in Hesperia. The driver of one vehicle, David Dubon, a 41 year-old resident of Adelanto, was pronounced dead at the scene. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigation Team is investigation the collision. [12052016 1215 SC] 

  2. Coroner case 701608612

    On Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 3:17 PM, a desert racing truck driving  along a dry wash in the off-highway vehicle area south of Barstow, collided with a motorcyclist riding along Stoddard Wells Rd., one mile west of Barstow Rd. Emergency medical providers were called to the scene, where they pronounced the motorcycle rider, Aaron Keith Wilder, a 51year old resident of Riverside, dead from his injuries at 3:38 PM. The truck fled the scene, but the driver was subsequently taken into custody by California Highway Patrol.[12042016 0300 JK]


  3. Coroner Case #701608618

    On Saturday, 12/03/2016, at 5:28PM, a 71-year-old male resident of Running Springs was crossing the roadway in front of 432 E. Redlands Blvd, in the city of San Bernardino, when he was struck by a westbound Toyota Corolla. Emergency medical service personnel were summoned and they transported him to the emergency room at Loma Linda University Medical Center. He did not respond to resuscitative measures and was pronounced dead at 5:53PM. The identification is being withheld until the next of kin is notified. San Bernardino Police Department is investigating the traffic collision. [12042016 0330 JK]

    On Sunday, 12/04/2016, at approximately 0955 hours, the Redlands fire and police departments responded to a technical rescue in the 300 block of Bellevue Ave., in Redlands involving a man who had been trimming a palm tree and had become trapped on the tree. When rescue personnel arrived they found that Luis Fernando Rodriguez Perez, a 35 year-old West Covina resident, had been trapped on the tree due to a skirt of palm fronds falling onto him. After an approximate 40 minute rescue operation, firefighter/paramedics were able to reach Rodriguez Perez and he was found to be unresponsive. Rodriguez Perez was transported to Redlands Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department-Coroner Division in conjunction with the Redlands Police Department and the County of San Bernardino Office of the District Attorney-Consumer and Environmental Protection Unit are investigating the death.     On Friday, 12/02/2016 at 6:10 AM, Officers with the California Highway Patrol responded to a head on collision on Lear Road south of Indian Trail in Twentynine Palms. The driver of one vehicle, Samantha Reyes, a 19 year old resident of Joshua Tree, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was flown to a local area hospital. The Morongo Office of the California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. [12022016 2230 JK]


  6. Coroner Case #701608575

    On Thursday, 12/01/2016, at 10:09 PM, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Search & Rescue located Lloyd Thompson Jr., an 81-year old male resident of Long Beach, who was reported missing. He was pronounced dead on scene, in an open desert wash east of Glen Helen Parkway, just west of I-15 in unincorporated area of San Bernardino. Long Beach Police Department and San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department are investigating the incident. [12022016 2230 JK]


  7. Coroner case #701608561 & 701608563

    On Thursday, December 01, 2016, at 6:30 AM, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two vehicle traffic collision on Bear Valley Road, just west of Flying Feather Lane in Apple Valley. The driver of one of the vehicles, 48 year old Miguel Angel Miranda of Oxnard, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, a 62 year old male of Apple Valley, whose identity will be released once family is notified, was transport to Desert Valley Hospital and pronounced dead in the emergency department. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the collision.[12012016 2000 JK]

    The three persons listed below attended the Hard Summer Music Festival, held at the Auto Club Speedway, Fontana, July 30-31, 2016. Each was transported from the event to different hospitals for medical attention Derek Lee, 22, of San Francisco, expired at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center on 07/31/2016 at 12:10 AM (701605639). Alyssa Dominguez, 21, of San Diego, expired at Kaiser Foundation Hospital of Fontana on 07/31/2016 at 2:10 AM (701605640). Roxanne Ngo, 22, of Chino Hills, expired at Loma Linda University Medical Center on 08/01/2016 at 3:04 AM (701605664). These deaths are being investigated individually and, at this time, are not believed to be related. The cause and the manner of death are still under investigation. Because the cases are still being investigated, the coroner division will not be releasing any further details.   9. Coroner case #701608474
    On Sunday, 11/27/2016, at approximately 5:30 pm, Alejandro Gonzales, a 31 year old resident of Victorville, struck a vehicle in the intersection of Village Drive and Oceanside Drive in Victorville. He was transported to Victor Valley Global Medical Center where he died from his injuries. Victorville City Police are investigating the traffic collision. [112816 0100 TC] 

  10. Coroner case #701608447
    On Saturday, November 26, 2016, Tyler Todd Lorenzo, a 27 year old resident of Tulare (county of Tulare), was driving a Polaris RZR, off-highway vehicle, when the vehicle overturned on a remote dirt roadway about 1 mile northwest of the intersection of US 395 and Cuddeback Rd., approximately 15 miles south and west of Red Mountain. The accident was reported at 1:05 PM. Paramedics arrived on scene and pronounced death at 2:01 PM. The incident is under investigation by California Highway Patrol – Barstow. [11272016 1715 SC] 

  11. Coroner Case #701608436
    On Saturday, November 26, 2016, at approximately 6:50 am, the California Highway Patrol received 911 calls reporting a traffic collision on State Route 58 east of Kramer Junction. A 45 year-old female resident of San Mateo and right front passenger in a vehicle that had been traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound State Route 58. For reasons yet to be determined the driver of the vehicle that the decedent was in crossed over into the westbound lane and struck a tractor trailer head-on. The female was pronounced dead at the scene. Once the female is positively identified and the next of kin notified, the name will be released.   12. Coroner Case #701607404
    SEARCHING FOR NEXT OF KIN: Back on Tuesday, 10/11/2016, at approximately 2:40 a.m., Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call from a Southern California Edison employee regarding a man down at the old Wal-Mart location at 15272 Bear Valley Road, Victorville. According to the reporting party, at approximately 1:00 a.m. he received notification that a transformer at the Bear Valley Rd. location had been completely shut down. He reported to the location and found Eric Hester, a 33 year-old transient from Victorville near the transformer. Hester was breathing and appeared to be in severe pain, suffering burns to over half of his body. Evidence at the scene indicated that the Hester had broken into the transformer case in an attempt to steal wiring. Hester began cutting the wires when he received an electrical shock, causing the severe burns. The damage to the transformer caused a major power outage to a very large portion of the community. Hester was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center to be treated for his injuries. On Friday, 10/14/2016, Hester died from his injuries. He is described as Male, Black, 5' 10" / 240 lbs, black hair and brown eyes.  The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department-Coroner Division is looking for Hester’s family/next of kin.
