  1. Coroner case #701407230
    On 09/27/2014 at 9:00 P.M., 29 year-old Landers resident Katrina Eberhardt  was the passenger on a 1983 ATV traveling north on Booth Rd. near Joshua Lane, in Landers.  The  ATV left the roadway and overturned. Eberhardt was pronounced dead at the scene.  The California Highway Patrol is investigating. [09302014 0812 SY] 


  2. Coroner Case #701407258
    On 09/29/14 at about 5:36 AM, dispatchers from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) began receiving 911 calls regarding a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on the Interstate 215 southbound south of the Rialto Avenue undercrossing in San Bernardino. When officers arrived, they found that a Hispanic male, 60 years-old, down on the freeway. Paramedics from American Medical Response (AMR) arrived and transported him to Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) where he was pronounced dead at 6:20 AM. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances of the collision. The name will be released when the next-of-kin has been located and notified. 


  3. Coroner Cases #701407267 and #701407273
    On 9-29-14 at 10:01 AM, Walter Kovacs, a 77 year old resident of Lake Arrowhead, was driving a 2002 Subaru Forester southbound on Highway 18 and collided head-on with a northbound Honda CRV driven by Anna Trucks-Fivgas, a 22 year old resident of Running Springs. Kovacs was pronounced dead at the scene at 1007 hours by paramedics. Trucks-Fivgas was transported to St. Bernardine Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at 1051 hours. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision. 


  4. Coroner Case #701407261
    On 09/29/14 at 7:11 AM, 911 calls were received indicating shots fired and a man down in the 700 block of N. Arrowhead Ave. in San Bernardino. When officers' arrived, they found Lamarco Quentez Graham, 21 year-old resident of San Bernardino, down in the courtyard area of an apartment complex with upper body trauma. Paramedics responded and transported him to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 8:46 AM. An autopsy will be conducted later this week to determine the cause of death.  The San Bernardino Police Department - Homicide Detail is conducting the investigation. 


  5. Coroner case 701407200
    Back on Monday, September 22, 2014, Sterling Michael Marshall, a 29 year old resident of Colorado Springs, was reported missing to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Department. On Friday, September 26, 2014, just before 5:00 PM, Marshall’s pick-up truck, a red 1999 Dodge, was found in the open desert west of Barstow Rd., approximately two miles south of Barstow. Within were the bodies of a man and a dog. Examinations will be conducted early this week to attempt to determine the cause of the man’s death and confirm his identity. The San Bernardino County Sheriff Department is also investigating. [09/27/14 1330 TC] 


  6. Coroner case #701407115
    On 09/23/14 at 7:00 AM, Fontana Police Department received 911 calls reporting a vehicle had struck a pedestrian in the intersection of Miller Ave. and Alder Ave. in Fontana. Officers arrived to find 76 year-old Fontana resident Jose Rodriguez down in the intersection.  Paramedics from the San Bernardino County Fire Department arrived and pronounced Rodriguez dead at the scene.  The Fontana Police Department Traffic Division is investigating the collision. 


  7. Coroner case #701407088
    On 9/21/2014 at 6:40 PM, 51 year-old Hesperia resident Kelly Shane Combs was traveling westbound on a 2000 Harley Davidson on Rock Springs Road west of Iroquois in Apple Valley when he collided with a 1993 Toyota 4Runner. Combs was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:53 PM by fire paramedics.  The CHP is investigating the accident.   8. Coroner case 701407083

    Back on Thursday, September 11, 2014, Nola Pauline Taylor, an 84 year old resident of Joshua Tree, was reported missing to the Palm Springs Police.  Her vehicle was subsequently found along a dirt road in Twenty-Nine Palms, approximately 1.3 miles east of the Indian Cove Ranger Station.  Multiple searches of the area were conducted by elements of the San Bernardino County Sheriff Volunteer Forces Search and Rescue and Joshua Tree National Park Search and Rescue.  On Sunday, September 21st, just after 9:00 AM, search and rescue personnel located remains in the desert, approximately one half mile south of the intersection of Desert Quail Dr. and Baseline Rd.  An examination will be conducted early this week in order to attempt to determine the cause of death.  [09/21/14 1945 VN]

     


  9. Coroner case #701407081
    On 09/21/14, at 2:24 PM, San Bernardino Police Department was dispatched to the area of the 300 block of S. San Felipe Road in the city of San Bernardino reference a shots fired call. Travelle Alexander, a 40 year old resident of San Bernardino was found deceased at the scene. The San Bernardino Police Department Homicide Division is investigating this homicide.   10. Coroner case #701407072
    On 09/20/14 Gregory Loren Bell, a 52 year old resident of Fontana, was riding his motorcycle westbound along Glen Helen Parkway, in Devore, when he lost control and rolled onto the railroad tracks crossing the roadway.  Paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced Bell dead of his injuries at 6:13 PM.  The accident is under investigation by California Highway Patrol.  [09/21/14 1430 TC]
     


  11. Coroner case #701407071
    On 09/20/2014, at 1355 pm, a vehicle stopped for traffic in the southbound lanes of Interstate 15, south of the Interstate 60 interchange, was rear ended by another vehicle. A male juvenile was taken to Kaiser Ontario where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.  The name of the juvenile is being withheld pending positive identification. Riverside CHP is investigating this collision. [092114 1430 TC]
     


  12. Coroner cases #701407027 and 701407028
    On 09/18/2014 at 10:33 PM, Ontario Police Department officers responded to report of a single vehicle rolled over on S. Grove Ave, north of Mission Blvd, in Ontario. Officers arrived on scene and found a 16 year- old  Hispanic female with trauma to the upper body. She was confirmed dead on scene. A second deceased person was located in the vehicle that had burned. The names of the decedents will be released after positive identification is completed and the next of kin is notified. The Ontario Police Department is investigating the incident.   13. Coroner case # 701406995
    On 09/18/2014, at 2353 hours, California Highway Patrol officers responded to 911 calls for a vehicle which had collided with a tree at Arrow Blvd and Banana Ave, in Fontana. A 43 year old Hispanic male, who had been a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead of his injuries at 12:40 AM. The name of the decedent will be released after the next of kin has been notified. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.   14. Coroner case #701406993
    On September 17, 2014, at 10:17 p.m., Redlands Police Department and Redlands Fire Department personnel responded to the 1000 block of Post Street in Redlands to investigate the report of a gunshot. Upon their arrival, Marcus Green, a 17 year old resident of Redlands, was found lying in an alley unresponsive, with upper body trauma. Green was pronounced dead at the scene by Redlands Fire Department. The Redlands Police Department Homicide Division is investigating the incident. [091814 0745 SY]
     


  15. Coroner Case #701406947

    At 3:58 PM on 09/16/2014, the California Highway Patrol received a 911 call of a vehicle that was washed from the roadway by water during a flash flood. Fire and California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene at Sunny Vista Road and Melton Trail, in Joshua Tree. Kyle Wyne, a 66 year-old resident of Joshua Tree, was removed from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene at 4:15 PM. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.   16. Coroner case # 701406704

    On 09/06/2014, at 11:43 PM, a 911 call was received reporting a single vehicle rollover in the center divider of Interstate 15 northbound approximately 1 mile south of Zzyzx Road in the rural area of Baker, CA. On 09/07/14, at 12:05 AM, the California Highway Patrol arrived and located a Lincoln Navigator rolled over onto its roof with the driver, 29 year-old Southgate resident, Walter Pena, deceased. The vehicle was traveling northbound on Interstate 15 when, for reasons unknown, it left the roadway into the center divider and began to roll over coming to rest on its roof. The California Highway Patrol-Barstow office is investigating the incident. [090714 1650 TC]

     


  17. Coroner case #701406693
    On 09-06-14, at 3:49 AM, San Bernardino County Sheriff Department personnel were sent to the area of State Route 395 and Adelanto Road, Adelanto, after a 911 call was received stating that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. 30 year-old Apple Valley resident Arthur Camacho, was declared dead on scene at 4:46 AM. The San Bernardino County Sheriff Department Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the incident. [090614 1445 TC]
