Please note that the Real Estate Services Department provides internal services for the County government and other governmental agencies. We often receive questions from the public regarding general real estate matters. We do our best to direct these inquiries to helpful resources, but they are not services we provide.

Appraisals

RESD provides internal services for the County government and other governmental agencies. Others who require the services of an appraiser should check their local listings such as a telephone directory, internet search or by calling 411.

Auctions/
Sales

RESD will occasionally hold auctions for surplus County property. Our auction information can be found on our For Sale web page.

Auctions held at the courthouse are usually held by private companies, banks and mortgage lenders who have the permission of the court to hold the auction. Unfortunately, we do not have any information regarding these auctions. Information may be found by contacting the agency holding the auction or may be posted at the courthouse.

Tax-defaulted properties may be purchased through the San Bernardino County Tax Collector's office via an online auction. For more information, visit the Tax Collector’s website.

Board of Realtors

San Bernardino County does not have an independent Board of Realtors. Realtor resources include the California Association of Realtors (213-739-8289) and the California Bureau of  Real Estate (916-227-0864).

Complaints

If you have a complaint regarding an RESD employee or service our office provided, please contact us.

If you have a complaint against an outside agency, contact their office or the California Bureau of Real Estate.

If you have a complaint regarding a public nuisance, such as poor building conditions or weed abatement, please call Code Enforcement at 909-387-4044.

Deeds

RESD does not provide information regarding deeds. We cannot assist the public in the preparation of legal documents. If you have questions or require assistance, you should obtain the services of a professional.

Deeds are recorded by the San Bernardino County Recorder. If you have any questions regarding the recording process, you may call (855) REC-CLRK and speak to an agent who can assist you.

Donating or Selling Land to the County

Please call our office for information.

Eviction

RESD does not have any forms or offer guidance regarding eviction procedures. Contact the court, your local law enforcement or seek the services of a professional for more information. 

Fraud

To report real estate fraud, contact the District Attorney's office at 909-387-8309 or contact your local law enforcement to file a report.

Housing

RESD does not have information regarding housing. For more information, contact the County of San Bernardino's Economic Development Housing Development Division or the Housing Authority of San Bernardino County.

Liens

To place a lien on a property, please contact the San Bernardino County Recorder's office at (855) REC-CLRK. To find liens placed on a property, you may search the public records or seek the services of a title company to perform the search for you. Contact the Recorder's office for more information on how to perform a search.

Leasing
County-Owned Property

Please call our office for more information regarding the leasing of County-owned property.

If you have property that you believe the County may be interested in leasing, but is not applicable for any current RFP or SOP, please submit the following information to our office:

• Picture of property
• Square footage for lease
• Address/APN
• Type of lease (NNN, FSG, Modified Gross)
• Parking ratio
• Proximity to public transportation
• Rate

Maps

RESD does not provide maps for the public. You may be able to obtain maps from the Land Use Services Department (909-387-8311) or the Department of Public Works (909-387-7910).

Permits

Please contact Land Use Services, Building and Safety Division (909-387-8311) for permit information.

Property Information

RESD does not provide lists of sales or property values to the public. You may be able to obtain some information from the Assessor's office or a local real estate agency.

RESD does not provide information regarding ownership of property to the public. You may be able to obtain some information from the Recorder's office (855-REC-CLRK).

RESD does not provide information on property taxes. You may be able to obtain information from the Tax Collector's office (909-387-8308).
