Human Resources - Commuter Services (HR-CS) participates in and hosts many events each year. Two national events that HR-CS participates in are the Rideshare Week that occurs every October and the Dump the Pump Day that occurs every June.

Two other events that HR-CS hosts include the Rideshare Member Luncheon, held every November, and the Bike to Work Challenge, held every May.  Each of these HR-CS sponsored events includes a chance to win one of many great prizes for those who participate.

Please peruse below for more information on these fantastic events offered to County employees. Contact Commuter Services at or 909.387.9640 for additional information on any of the County's ridesharing programs or events.

National Rideshare Week is a recognized annual event held the first week in October to promote carpooling, transit and other alternatives to driving alone. Each year County employees are asked to join the County in working towards meeting Air Quality Management District (AQMD) clean air requirements by making the pledge to rideshare. Participants are entered into a drawing for a chance to earn one of many great prizes.

The Rideshare Member Luncheon is held in November each year to recognize employees that participated an average of 8 days for 6 consecutive months. Each luncheon has a theme and a keynote speaker.

During Rideshare Week, HR-CS sponsors a Brown Bag Luncheon. Attendees bring their lunch and HR-CS provides FREE drinks and dessert, as well as prize drawings.

Every June public transportation systems across the country celebrate National Dump the Pump Day - a day for people to ride public transportation instead of driving. Experience how fast and easy your commute to work can be on an Omnitrans bus. Use conveniently located bus routes and enjoy air-conditioned comfort while taking a relaxing ride to work instead of fighting traffic. Participants are entered into a drawing for a chance to earn a prize.

May is National Bike to Work Month in the United States. Each year, HR-CS recognizes this event by sponsoring a "Bike to Work Challenge" for employees. Those who accept the challenge are entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of several prizes including the grand prize - a brand new Commuter Bike.
