Bike to Work Month

May is National Bike to Work Month in the United States. Each year, Human Resources – Commuter Services recognizes this event by sponsoring a "Bike to Work Challenge" for employees. Those who accept the challenge are entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of several prizes including the grand prize - a brand new Commuter Bike.



Bike to work Month - 2013

This year's challenge will be from May 1, 2013 through May 31, 2013. If you would like to participate, submit a completed pledge form to Commuter Services - Mail Code 0178 by May 24, 2013. You may be the winner of one of four great prizes! Good luck!


Bike to work Month - 2012

27 employees pledged to bike to work an average of two days per week in May and were entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of four prizes including the grand prize—a brand new Commuter Bike valued at $470! In addition, the first 25 employees who pledged received a special gift! The prize winners were:

Bike to work Month - 2010

In 2010, the event proved to be a huge success! The contest attracted 37 participants representing 18 County departments. The bicycling participants reduced the number of vehicle trips to work by 120 for the month of May. In addition to the bicycle patch kits that were awarded to the first 25 entries, other awards included: 1st - a Commuter Bike, 2nd - a Bike Helmet, 3rd - a Seat Bag, and 4th - a Cyclo Computer.

All prizes were provided by Cyclery USA. Remember: With proper County ID, employees receive a 10% discount on bicycle accessories at the Redlands, Riverside and Rancho Cucamonga locations.
