On January 26, 2010 The Board of Supervisors approved the consolidation and reorganization of the offices of the Assessor, Treasurer-Tax Collector, and Auditor-Controller/Recorder to enhance public service, while generating cost savings and operational efficiencies.

Effective January 3, 2011, the offices of the Assessor and Recorder-County Clerk have been consolidated. Dennis Draeger, the Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk is committed to serve the citizens of San Bernardino County with efficiency and integrity. As the Clerk I am responsible for filing, registering and issuing a variety of direct public services. The County Clerk is the Commissioner of Civil Marriages and may perform civil marriage ceremonies.

As the Recorder I have the responsibility for the recordation and safeguarding of any document that is authorized or required by statute or court order to be recorded and meet the recording requirements of state statutes and local ordinances. The Recorder is also responsible for the issuance of birth, death, and marriage certificates.
